Orchid Project: Female Genital Cutting

This film was released at the time of the huge Girl Summit #YouthforChange, and Girl Effect Live, driven by the Department For International Development.

The objective was to inform and educate about the taboo reality of female cutting (FGC). This practice affects 125 million women and girls worldwide, and 3 million
girls each year are at risk of being cut in Africa alone, many aged five years old, or younger.

Orchid Project supports a grassroots movement of communities who are choosing to end cutting. An education-based, human rights led approach has led to over 7,000 communities abandon FCC, and Orchid Project want to support that change. Their unwavering objective is to end FGC completely.
